Obituary notes for Ernest H. Dubble
Ernest” Ernie” Dubble, 78, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on September 10, 2024. Ernie was born to the late Harry and Rose Dubble. A brilliant CAD/CAM Specialist, Ernie specialized in Thermal Dynamics and was renowned in his field. He was proud to hold several patents, including those developed for NASA.
Ernie traveled from Pennsylvania to California for college and for his love of water. During that time, he spent long hours on the beach as a lifeguard and a longboard surfer. He also worked at the famed La Costa Resort where is got to sing a few lines with Dean Martin. His passion for the water continued when he moved back to the East Coast, where he enjoyed sailing. Ernie’s interests led him to Chesapeake Bay, where he combined his love for boats and woodworking as an avid participant at the Chesapeake Wooden Boat Builders School for many years.
Ernie was not only a master of his craft but also a tinkerer and gadget enthusiast who kept up with the latest technology. Guided by his strong Christian faith he also used his musical skills to lead worship services which he greatly enjoyed. Known for always having exactly what others needed, Ernie’s loyalty and generosity were hallmarks of his character.
Above all, Ernie was devoted to his family. He shared a wonderful 55 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Sandra “Sandi”. Together, they raised two children, Amy Weaver (Ryan) and Bartholomew “Bart” Dubble, who survive him. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Isabella, Henry and Bailey as well as his siblings Linda Dubble Kelly and Richard Dubble along with his four half-brothers and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a future date to celebrate Ernie’s life and will be posted on his Facebook page. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ernie’s name may be made to: Upper Bay Museum/The Chesapeake Wooden Boat Builders School

Obituary notes for Sandra L. (Spouse 1)
Sandra L. “Sandi” Dubble, 77, of Lancaster, PA, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2025. Born to the late Charles Kienzle Jr. and Pauline (Jordan) Kienzle, Sandi experienced the loss of her mother at an early age and was lovingly raised by her stepmother, Jean Kienzle, who also preceded her in death.
A proud graduate of J.P. McCaskey High School, Sandi continued on to study at St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing. From there she went on to a life in education as a preschool teacher where her love for teaching blossomed. She carried this passion for learning into her role as a devoted mother and later as a grandmother. Known for her fierce intelligence, curiosity, and incredibly sweet nature, Sandi enjoyed history, collecting antiques and oddities, crafting, and spending quiet afternoons reading on her porch. Her greatest enjoyment of all though was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Sandra was married to the love of her life, Ernest “Ernie” Dubble, who passed away in September 2024. Together, they built a life centered on family and love.
Sandra is survived by her children, Amy Weaver (Ryan) and Bartholomew “Bart” Dubble; and her beloved grandchildren, , Henry and Bailey, who lovingly referred to her as Grammy. She is also survived by her siblings, Karen Knight (Rob) and Glenn Kienzle (Tina), who shared her love of family and cherished her deeply.
